What kinds of people join
the Network? |
|
|
Network experts are knowledgeable people
with diverse backgrounds. The include people who are familiar
with products, customers, technologies, business processes,
and legal and accounting issues. We value diversity of experience.
Most Members are fully employed outside of The Network of
Experts, but we also have Members who are retired, on leave,
or between jobs. Please see the About
Us section of this site for more information.

Am I qualified? |
|
|
You may well be. Our experts have varying
levels and types of experience across a wide range of areas.
We look for decision makers, thought leaders and experts
in their fields. We also look for people who have exposure
to processes, products and customers. If you are unsure
and are interested in joining, please fill out an application
to find out if you qualify.
Previous consulting experience is not required, nor is experience
in working with professional investors.

Do I have to have consulting
experience? |
|
|
No. Some of our Members are experienced
consultants, but many are not.

What is my role as a Member? |
|
|
Members are expected to, from time to
time, answer surveys, either online or over the telephone,
engage in telephone conversations, and meet in person with
Clients. You would only be expected to discuss topics that
you are comfortable discussing and where you have no conflicts
of interest.

Who will be receiving my
services? |
|
|
You will generally consult with professional
investment managers and other decision makers who seek to better understand current
issues and trends in your industry and area of expertise.

What will Clients want
to talk about? |
|
|
Clients are often interested in industry
trends, products and services that you are familiar
with, and in general education in your area of expertise.
You are expected to discuss only what you are knowledgeable
about, feel comfortable covering, and have no conflict
of interest in discussing.

How do I go about providing
consultations? |
|
|
Members respond to surveys, either online
or by telephone, and engage in conversations with Clients,
either by telephone or in person. You can find more

What is the nature of the
surveys I may be asked to complete? |
|
|
Surveys are usually short in nature
and should generally take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
They are administered either on line (through this site)
or by telephone. The survey administrator will be someone
from Greenwood Research.

How are projects brought
to me and how long do I have to respond? |
|
|
Members are contacted by telephone or
email when a suitable project becomes available. (Email
is our primary means of communication with Members.)
Members must then respond within 48 hours of availability.
Surveys should be completed within 24 hours of acknowledgement
of availability, and in person consultations and telephone
consultations should be completed within one week.

How often should I anticipate
being called? Is there a minimum time commitment? |
|
|
The Network of Experts is designed with
the schedules of busy professionals in mind. The total
number of surveys and consultations that you will be
asked to complete will depend on many factors, including
your area of expertise and the pace of current events
in your area. There is no minimum time commitment, and
you always have the option to accept or decline any
project invitation.

How and when will I be
paid for my services? |
|
|
When you apply,
you will be asked to provide what you consider to be a fair
hourly rate for your services. After completing a survey
or consultation, you will be paid by Greenwood Research.
Payment normally occurs within 30 days of project completion.

How does the application
process work? |
|
|
It's very simple. You should first fill
out the Application,
and read and accept the Terms
and Conditions. Once you submit your application. We
will review it. We generally reply within seven days, although
we may contact you with additional questions. Once your
application is accepted, you are eligible to receive invitations
for consulting assignments.

Greenwood Research employs a methodology
we call Value Chain Research. We look at industries
as value chains of interrelated products, services,
and capabilities. We seek to understand issues by understanding
the pieces of the value chain. It is through this process
that The Network of Experts adds collective insights.

How are conflicts of interest
handled? |
|
|
If you are invited to participate in
a project and you have a conflict of interest with that
project, you must decline the invitation. As is spelled
out in our Terms
and Conditions, Members are expected to comply with
all outside obligations. If you are engaged in a project
and identify a conflict, please contact us immediately,
either via email or via the telephone number that will
be provided to you.

Will my employer allow
me to join? |
|
|
Most Members are actively employed.
If you are unsure of your ability to participate, we
ask that your first confirm with your employer that
you may participate. Once you join, you will not be
expected or permitted to comment on matters that you
are restricted from discussing.

What if I cannot accept
direct compensation? |
|
|
Some of our Members are restricted from
accepting direct compensation. Any Member may for any
reason elect to not receive direct compensation. For
these Members, we will gladly donate the fees to which they would
otherwise been entitled to the charity of their choice.
Once you become a Member, please contact Member Services
so that appropriate arrangements can be made. If you
are unsure as to whether you can accept fees, please
consult with your employer.
